Job Summary:

Provides HR generalist administrative support for the Human Resources Department. May have areas of responsibility for one or more functional areas listed below.

Essential Duties:


  • Candidate Care
  • Attend job fairs
  • Post open positions – internet, internal postings, website, external postings to organizations
  • Maintain system for recruitment, applicant tracking and requisitions
  • Reference checking. Make job offers. Arrange post-offer background checks and drug screens
  • Maintains applicant files – interview notes


  • New Hire Orientation – ensures completion of employment documentation and dissemination of required information.
  • I-9 – completes forms, files in I-9 current employee book, files I-9s for terminated employees in term book, pulls and shreds expired I-9s.
  • Affirmative Action – complies with plan for recruitment and employment. Manages voluntary information about ethnic, race, veteran status and disability.
  • Employment Verification – completes written and phone requests.
  • Records Maintenance – files documentation, maintains employee files, medical files, and employee legal documents.
  • New Hire Notification – notifies designated Union Representative of new hires per contract.
  • Performance Evaluations – files reviews.
  • Labor Laws – ensures posting requirements are maintained.

HR Systems

  • Payroll & HRIS - data entry, data audits
  • Time and Attendance – payroll reminders, audits, & corrections
  • Security Access/Badge System backup
  • Reports - Prepares routine reports
  • Information dissemination for blood drives at secure sites

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Process Bi-weekly payroll
  • Assists with simple issues and requests.
  • Compensation changes – data entry into HR systems and filing of change notification sheets

Workers' Compensation:

  • Assists management & employee with initial claim form.
  • Completes Employer First Report of Injury and submits to carrier.
  • Provide information to physician such as job description to facilitate identification of modified work.
  • Coordinate with management identification of modified work. Establish modified work agreements. Assist management in determining ability to provide accommodation for permanent work restrictions.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Education: Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent education and experience.

Experience: Entry level position for individual with theoretical background (HR Certificate) or two years of related experience.
